In the final weeks of the winter of 1868, Carson City Nevada finds itself without any lawmen. When the town’s brothel is shot up and people are robbed and slaughtered by vengeful outlaws, they must rely on Marshal Creek to uphold the law until they can elect a sheriff. A fight soon breaks out as well over the ownership of one of the town’s most popular saloons and people begin turning up with their throats cut. The sneaky murderer may prove next to impossible to catch. Carson City, once thought to be settled down, suddenly breaks out into chaos and lawlessness.
