Never Look Back

Bodies have been turning up in a cane field in Waialua, a town on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii and Detective Anthony Shapiro wants to know why. Jack Lyman, a photojournalist from Boston, has been living on Hawaii for five years. He and ’Bear’ Foster, a three hundred pound samurai sword wielding mass of a man, have become close friends. A meticulous and patient sort, all is going according to plan until Jack meets Maureen Durrante. She’s his type, but she’s also being stalked by a psycho. Confrontation inevitable, Jack beats the stalker, driving him into a cane field where his body is engulfed by flames. Did Jack torch him? That’s only one of the questions Detective Shapiro has for Jack. What does Jack know about the two bodies that were set afire in the cane field just days ago?
