Yes, it was the early 1950s and even the most well-meaning depiction was likely to be full of stereotypes and scenes which today would be considered offensive --- but it's the comics, and during the Golden Age and beyond no racial, ethnic, or cultural group was spared from such treatment entirely. Ignoring its social scars, we have a very exciting collection of adventures about a wild and dangerous time, full of interesting, honorable-and-dishonorable characters.
