4th Grade Map Quest

Fourth Grade Mathematics serves as a foundational "Bridge to Middle School," shifting the focus from basic counting to proficiency with large numbers and comprehensive fraction understanding. The curriculum is structured around four core pillars: Firstly, the "Big Four" Operations require mastery of the Standard Algorithm for addition and subtraction up to 1,000,000, multi-digit multiplication (e.g., $45 \times 22$), and long division with remainders. Secondly, students will engage with "The World of Fractions & Decimals," learning to find equivalent fractions, compare sizes, and perform addition, subtraction, and multiplication with fractions, as well as convert fractions into decimals (specifically tenths and hundredths). Thirdly, "Geometry & Measurement" progresses beyond shape identification to analysis, including measuring angles using a protractor, calculating Area and Perimeter using formulas ($A = L \times W$), and converting units (e.g., hours to minutes or meters to centimeters). Finally, "Algebraic Thinking" is introduced, encompassing the identification of factors and multiples, distinguishing between prime and composite numbers, and recognizing numerical patterns (e.g., "The rule is $+3$, what is the 10th number?").
