This report investigates the mechanisms of learning – how learning and memory are used in the entire learning process. It examines a small but interesting part of learning, namely accelerated learning – how one can effectively learn and take in information more quickly than through old and ineffective encoding strategies. Accelerated learning and its techniques cannot be adequately studied without a prior background to learning – thus it appears towards the second half of the report.
The notion of learning is that it is often associated with painful memories of boredom and restlessness. If one decides that their mental capacities for learning are virtually limitless, then learning will be improved – the rate at which one takes in information and retains it multiplies and learning becomes more of an interesting experience than what one initially perceives it as. Accelerated learning is based on this principle, and news ways of learning are evolving as a result.
