An idealistic young Russian Engineering Officer (Alexi) gets sent to Siberia in 1840s for what he thinks is a promotion, but he is actually being exiled by everyone he trusted, including his one true love. After realizing such, Alexi is determined to build a Utopian paradise in a harsh wilderness inhabited by rebellious Natives, deceitful Russian soldiers and the discovery of gold that corrupts everyone who goes after it.
