“Creation and Other Stories” is a collection of six short stories, enjoyed by children and adults alike. Ajapa the Tortoise and Creation, is a Yoruba creation myth of how the earth came into being. I am Tired of Being a Fly, tells of Esinsin who hates being a fly and longs to be someone else. Ajapa and Agemo the Chameleon, tells the story of Olokun, the orisa of the seas, who challenges Olodumare, the creator, to a contest on weaving and dyeing cloth. Food of Angels, is the legend of the cooks of the food of angels. Ajapa and the Rebellious Orisa, tells how the Orisa, the assistants Olodumare created overreach themselves and declare they no longer need Olodumare to oversee the work he assigned them. Peace and Quiet, is a familiar fantasy of wanting to be left alone, in a crowded household.
