History is made up of facts and minutiae that are not often included in textbooks, which tend to focus on a pedantic list of names and numbers for didactic purposes. And yet, they exist. Unreported, unseen, hidden among the wrinkles of common time and superficial study, curiosities are the shining stars of historical sky, the ones that make us open our mouths in wonder. They are the human eyes in an ancient statue, something we recognize and identify with that gives the timeline of human events a familiar and understandable dimension. 150 curiosities, which are very few compared to the entire documentary universe handed down to us by narrators and historians of the past: encyclopedias could be written just about those related to the world of ancient Romans, for example.
