COMMUNITY
1: an interacting population of various kinds of individuals in a common location
2: a group linked by a common policy
3: a group of people with a common interest living together within a larger society
4: joint ownership or participation
Current residential models (single-family, single-lot, front/back/side yards, driveway) only support the definition of community when residents make incredible efforts to cross lot lines and interact. This project proposes the elimination of the single-lot in favor of group ownership and cooperation. The result is an environment where people can reorganize themselves into micro-communities, each focused on a particular pursuit/lifestyle, which, as they grow, will begin to cooperate weaning residents off of foreign dependencies and large infrastructure. This new community armature will provide people the space to truly cooperate and work towards a better way of life.
