This project is designed for a Grade 6 student in Saskatchewan as an immersive, highly tactile, single-sided physical art portfolio. Rather than grading purely on final artistic execution, this curriculum prioritizes the creative process, material risk-taking, and critical reflection. The student works on this journal for 8 months (September to April), completing exactly 5 activities per month (for a total of 40 core journal pages). The final 2 months (May and June) are reserved for educator evaluation, portfolio compilation, and a collaborative self-reflection conference with the student.
