The North Lincolnshire village of Elsham was home to two different airfields in both the World Wars. During World War One a rudimentary grass flying field housed fighter aircraft of 33 Squadron. During World War Two a larger bomber airfield was established nearby, 103 squadron were based at this airfield flying Wellington, Halifax and latterly Lancaster bombers. They were later to share the airfield with 576 Squadron and their Lancasters. This book charts the development of the airfields and the significant stages of their existence. The use of the World War Two airfield after closure by the RAF is also charted.
