It has been raining for three days nonstop. It was as if the mountains were angry or rather, sad and crying out their eyes. People had washed clothes but they were still to get dry. The sun was not showing its face at all. Most people dried these washed cloths on their verandas. Normally, wind and a bit of heat was supposed to dry these cloths but not in Buea. Places were so cold that even the cloths refused to get dry. It was a cold morning, August rain that never gets too heavy nor stops for people to go about their business. Victor has been indoors for three days straight. At night, even the bed was too cold to sleep on. He would at times use a hot iron to warm the space of the bed where he will sleep, then quickly jumps into the bed. It was really boring staying in the room without going out. He had played all kinds of game on his phone. He had even used playing cards to play solitaire just to ease the boredom. Worse of all, Rene, the friend he came to visit had to travel urgently to Douala because of work, so he was left on his own. He and Rene have been friends for more than fifteen years.
