Zachary Wylie lives in the Detroit suburbs and is reasonably content with his life – and yet certain that he needs to change it. Zack has worked at the same bookstore since he was in high school, has never had a serious relationship, and lives with his ailing mother. Sure, he goes out and parties, he has good friends (male and female, straight and gay), and he likes his job. He has a boyfriend he’s been seeing for a few months who is very serious – far too serious for Zack’s liking – but Zack can’t decide whether to become more serious and keep the relationship going, or to dump the guy.
But Zack still can’t decide what he wants to do. Is the bookstore enough for him, for now, for the rest of his life? Or should he go back to school and learn a new trade? Should he stay in Michigan or move? The answers to these questions will surprise him, and will surprise you as well, in this witty and moving new novel from the author of On a Bus to St. Cloud.
