Isaac is a businessman who loved a woman, but has given up on love because he feels he can't trust again. Abigail is a cosmetologist that still loves the father of her son even if he's dead. They become acquainted with each other before they realize the people they love killed each other in a car accident. They must navigate the waters of a budding new relationship while dealing with the past. Caleb is a close friend of Isaac's, but provides a link when it's revealed he knew both people that died in the accident fairly well. He knew Isaac's wife, Gabrielle, and Abigail's boyfriend, Adam, much better than Isaac and Abby ever knew that he did. Sarah is a long time friend of Isaac and Caleb, that has begun to take an interest in Isaac. In the end, she forces him to choose between a safer road with her or a more dangerous road with Abby, who he has begun to trust, but as the newness wears off has been honest that she may not be able to love him.
