Do They Know?

Hope is what earth's creatures hold, hope that humans will remember their part in our natural world. The trees, rocks and birds of this environmental fable decide what they can do to help the humans remember their heritage. Paul Howell has worked and taught in environmental fields for most of his life, and this is his first children's book. His sister Nancy Howell was an artist with particularly close ties to birds and natural landscapes. Paul chose the illustrations for this book from a few of Nancy's works, which are held in private collections across the United States and around the world.
