This book reflects both scholarly inquiry and lived experience. As an educator and community practitioner with over four decades of engagement in Vietnam and the United States, I have witnessed the transformative potential of leadership grounded in ethical responsibility. At the same time, I have observed the persistent challenges posed by structural inequality, cultural division, and competing visions of justice. The analysis presented in this volume is shaped by an interdisciplinary approach, integrating perspectives from Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Critical Race Theory (CRT), moral philosophy, and educational leadership. It also reflects an ongoing dialogue between Eastern and Western traditions of thought, particularly the integration of Buddhist ethical principles with contemporary critical frameworks. This book does not claim neutrality. Rather, it is guided by a normative commitment: that leadership must be evaluated not only by its effectiveness, but by its contribution to human dignity, justice, and inclusion.
