MARIA, UNBROKEN is the story of a young girl living in Mexico in the 1960s, facing abuse, neglect, and rejection. She’s denied schooling and must instead begin working at fourteen, finding some semblance of happiness through her best friends, all the while dreaming of a better life for herself. This better life proves elusive as she ends up in New York facing the same issues she ran from.
