Permaculture is a design system that can be applied in various settings to create more sustainable, holistic and regenerative environments. While it is often associated with rural or suburban settings, it is also very much applicable in urban areas. Indeed, given the challenges that come with living in densely populated and often polluted cities, the principles and practices of permaculture can be even more important in such settings. In this book, we will explore how to use permaculture design in an urban landscape, looking at the various elements of permaculture design and how they can be adapted to the urban context.
