Royal Flying Corps - A History

August 2014 commemorated 100 years since the start of WW I in August 1914. When the war started the RFC was barely two years old equipped with flimsy biplanes intended primarily for reconnaissance. But almost when the Armistice was signed in November 1918 it had grown int the largest air force in the world as the reconstituted RAF.
