The Mighty Mustang

The North American P-51D Mustang was without doubt one of the greatest Allied fighter planes of WW II. Inspired by Great Britain to meet its requrement for a long-range escort fighter it was started as private venture by North American. It proved to be a pilots dream often referred to as the 'Cadillac of the Skies' It was hard-hitting and proved very tough with first class performance under all combat conditions.
