The Collage Journal: Selections from the First 18 Months
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Peter Jacobs, who has been involved with the art of collage for over two decades, which have included five museum exhibitions, has developed a complex visual language that seeks to reconcile the rational with the irrational. On March 31, 2005, Peter Jacobs created a 9 by 12 inch collage using the day’s local newspaper and have continued that process without interruption every day since. Now after 20 months and over 600 daily dissections, an intuitive momentum has grown with each new work, while an ethereal thread connects The Collage Journal in its entirety. Jacobs abstracts small truths to build visual ambiguities without a pre-determined narrative in mind. The collages are grounded in aesthetic choices of color, form, rhythm, and figure-ground, but are layered with irony, humor, symbolism, and history.
