This book is a small sampling of the almost 3,000 pieces of short literature and “pocket poems” which Phyllis spent about 27,281 hours writing over the last 32 years (and still going strong). She is currently on her 6th computer, 4th word processor and 11th keyboard. More work by Phyllis can be found at flippantphyllis.com _______________________________________________ About Phyllis Phyllis is a ~100-year-old (2026) Dearborn (Michigan) resident who has written more than 2,000 short and very short, mostly funny, poetry pieces that are interesting to those in the 70+, 80+ and 90+ generation. She has a ~70 page collection of them assembled in a galley for review, editing and potential publication. She is a “super ager” who has “all of her faculties” and behaves like a more-than-motivated 60- or 70-something Phyllis: ● Writes daily -- just replaced (wore out) her 3rd new keyboard in 11 years ● Walks 2+ miles daily - doesn't use a cane or walker, or any other assistance. ● Had to upgrade from her stick-shift Jeep to a Honda when she was 87, because her “old lady friends” had a hard time getting in the passenger seat. ● Is adept at Zoom, e-Mail and word processors, and like the rest of us, complains when she has to un-jam her printer. ● Popularized (in a building in her zip code) a concept called “Pocket Poems” (see photo) Her work fills the niche of 50-70 year old ‘children’ looking for something to give to their 70-100 year old parent(s) -- almost certainly a paper-bound book that can be entertaining, germane, fun, and introspective.
