My mind was whizzing; neither my certificate nor the graduation ceremony
excited me, but the idea of what I was going to do further in the future thrilled
me. This thought was planted two years ago, when I was checking all the
possibilities and opportunities in clinical medicine and in non-clinical medicine,
and this year, I put in some extra effort to know my strengths and traits to
reach a place that would suit me the most. This was made very difficult,
however, because at the time, we all had to transfer from the university due to
the war crisis in Lugansk. (I’ll write about the Lugansk days in another book.)
Like me, my friends also had the same suffering except Sachu; he was
criticizing us for not taking this ceremony seriously and had not done the
photo shoot well. We laughed amongst ourselves. Harry, who had plans but
never shared them with us, started smoking. On the other side, Siv and I
breathed some fresh air. It's strange we three different and difficult people got
to gather in the final year. It was like fitting something big in a small box, but
surprisingly our ego didn't spoil our friendship. In the final year, we came to a
point where politics no longer mattered and there were more things to achieve
than fighting among ourselves. So in regard to my career searching, as I said
earlier, I had done a lot of research projects but I still could not find the right
fit. We had many plans, Siv and I during all these years but they were never
executed.
