Letters from the Home Front

This is a book of letters (with Photos) from a young farmer's wife to her sister who has joined the Waacs during World War Two. The letters reveal the difficulties of rationing and the hard work of farmers' wives who cooked with wood ranges and did without indoor plumbing and appliances. The letters also reveal a tightly knit neighborhood of friends and relatives. The letters show the progress of a young Waac who progresses through officers training, finally facing the decision of what to do after the war is over.
