Stories From American Geography

This book goes through each state, telling what makes that state interesting, and a bit about the geography or history of that part of the country through stories. Interviews with people who live in some of these places are included to help students see how it’s like to live there. Each part has its own drawing of famous places in that area as well as map questions for each state. This book is a good geography reader but you’ll also need either a good map or atlas of America to answer the map questions. The purpose of map questions is to encourage students to take a picture of the map in their mind and note key geographical points or places on that map. This book is meant for 4th-6th graders.
