During a major transition in her life, Clarion was counseled by her pastor, a predator who used his charisma and Biblical authority - along with speed seduction techniques - to deceive and exploit her in therapy. She published her poems to encourage other victims (women, children and men) who have experienced the same form of professional exploitation.
