The Atlantic slave trade is one of the most far-reaching, devastating and lingering sagas in human history. The social and economic impacts on the modern world are incalculable. Honorable and dishonorable characters, famous and infamous characters have garnered indelible ink in its epically regrettable history. One shady and despicable slaveholder, William Lynch, is the focus of this essay. Under the glaring light of universal moral condemnation, the perpetrators of this nefariously depraved crime against God and humanity are burdened by unspeakable shame as the eternally wagging finger of their own "Declaration Of Independence" haunts them like hell. The guilty have sought to escape the censure of polite cultures by muffling history's scolding voice at every narration where they could not silence it altogether. "Willie Lynch" falls in the infamous category.
