Set in the valley of La Guadalquivir in Spain around the turn of the 17th century, The Eagle and Dove is a story about love, loyalty and courage in troubled times.
Manana, a young Gypsy girl discovers a young eagle that is badly injured after falling from its nest. Using her gift of healing, she restore its health and a deep bond builds between the girl and eagle.
But superstition and ignorance among the residents of the valley, religious persecution of Gypsies and others by the fanatics of the Inquisition and feudal lords, supported by roving bands of mercenaries held sway over life and made living one day to the next a dangerous challenge.
All of these factors combine and will test both Manana and her Gypsy family to the limits of their endurance.
