When the mutilated body of a murdered college student is found in a campground on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Special Agent Jack Dollar of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is put in charge of the case. But this is Jack's first homicide investigation in over a year, since the unsolved murders of his own wife and daughter.
