“The Exodus” is book of meditations surrounding the account of Jacob’s descendants and their deliverance from slavery. After Joseph's death, the “sons of Israel” multiplied so greatly that the Pharaoh forced the people into slavery in an effort to diminish their strength as a nation spurred on by their rapid growth. However, God appointed and equipped Moses to free His people from slavery, out of Egypt to the Promise Land. Through God’s intervention combined with the aid of His ten plagues, Pharaoh resolved himself to let all of Israelite people go. The meditations found in this book briefly summarize the passages found in each chapter of Exodus. Because this book is not written to replace God’s Word, readers are encouraged approach each meditation in conjunction with their own personal study of God’s Word. Through a daily devotion and prayer, the inspiring messages should not only create a desire know God more but also foster a craving to continue to follow where He leads.
