Haworth Suite
This ebook may not meet accessibility standards and may not be fully compatible with assistive technologies.
This is a presentation score of the 'Haworth Suite,' music for chamber orchestra written in an "English folk song" style and dedicated to Acton, Ellis and Currer Bell (a.k.a. the collective imagination of Anne, Emily and Charlotte Brontë with the collusion of their brother Bramwell). As their Gondal poems describe the interior lives of people living in a far country existing only in the minds of its creators (with sentiments so very like those of the nineteenth century English) so this suite contains songs and dances from a Yorkshire which could never have been, except in the mind of an American composer of the twenty-first century. All the music is original.
ERM Media selected this for their 'Masterworks of the New Era' project and recorded it with the Prague Radio Philharmonic. The release is set for Fall 2008
