When World War II ended, 15 million veterans had stories to tell about life in the military. A great many war stories were written and documentary films showed combat experiences countless times. Numerous interesting day-to-day stories of the serving lives and adventures of these military men remain untold, for various reasons. In later years, the author found that family members were fascinated when he and other veterans had an opportunity to talk about these day-to-day experiences in the service. From time to time they urged the him to write about his time in the service. After working off and on for almost five years his story is finally complete.
