Over thirty years I have shared poetry with my friend Martha Stothard. During the first twenty-five years, we attended poetry readings, operas, music open mikes, and the occasional trip to a Botanical Garden or Zoo. All of these were to provide inspiration for our writing and sharing of poetry with each other and our California poetry community. Since I have moved to Texas, the last four years have been hard on my friend as she suffered an amputation of her lower leg and the early stages of Alzheimer's disease. Martha stopped writing poetry and sketching her squiggly line art. I took it upon myself to try and keep her connected with inspirational memories of things we had seen or talked about. I eventually cast these into little poems and an associated picture. This book captures the essence of our sharings.
