Your job is to research an event in history and illustrate that event using people in full figure and accurate period costume and to do this in a one color medium. This assignment will be developed as a story to be placed in the local travel publication to inform visitors to that area. The example that is used is located in New Ulm, Minnesota, a city steeped in history and culture. Part of their history is identified in the mid 1800’s during a time of strife between the local tribe and the newly settled pioneers. Each area of our lesson plans not only help in the learners artistic skills but also each lesson emphasizes the use and need of the primary skills of learning; reading, writing, and math. You will find additional support in charts and graphs that will help in the learners process.
