Golf in the Wild

A Journey Through Time and Place

ByRobin DownJames Down

Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
The journey taken by Golf in the Wild explores the possibilities for playing this most frustrating of games in remote, beautiful and unexpected places. It is a pilgrimage that starts at the centre of mainland Britain and heads, via a circuitous route, to its top left hand corner. "Small is clearly beautiful to the author, and so is remote. He has a passion and curiosity for these special golfing terrains and the way local landscapes and history have shaped them. His odyssey should strike a chord with a small army of kindred souls" - Norman Harris - The Times. Golf in the Wild starts in the hills of Northumberland and heads north through Border Reiver country towards Scotland's Highlands and Islands. The route meanders along the high road to Mull and Skye then heads further north along the sharp edges of Scotland's Atlantic coast. The landscape becomes progressively more spectacular so that between the vernal and autumnal equinoxes it is a pilgrimage into the light.
