In this issue, the reader becomes removed from the narrative that we saw in our first two
issues, which detailed points of pain, but with hope of healing. The works in this issue, in
contrast, do not seem to share the same hope for recovery - a detail that haunts me
greatly.
That aside, the submissions for this call were stunning. There are references to historical
events, there’s anger, there’s feminism, and there are also concerns of consumerism,
materialism, and disgusting amounts of wealth. The stories that were told and the
extremely personal connections to the topic at hand are incredibly moving.
May you be inspired by this body of work.
Enjoy,
Robyn Mallery
