Recollections of a Mountaineering Geologist
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Rowland Tabor is a Geologist Emeritus with the U.S. Geological Survey. From a youth spent exploring Colorado’s mountains and running dubious chemistry experiments, he moved to mountain climbing adventures with the Stanford Alpine Club. A fortuitous college summer job as a geologic field assistant in Alaska put him on the path to his life’s work as a mountaineering geologist, largely spent exploring the geology of the Pacific Northwest—with detours to Greenland, Antarctica, the Appalachians and Nevada along the way. His published work includes professional papers, maps, popular guide books, and the comprehensive Geologic Map of the North Cascade Range, Washington.
