PUZZLE MATH Simplifying Expressions that have Square Roots
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Students first see a worked out example of simplifying a radical, the square root of 75. Then they quickly simplify 10 similar problems which they self-check via a decoder that reveals a secret message. Then alternate 6 worked out examples and similar problems to do that involve radicals in fractions, fractions in radicals, adding like radicals, multiplying radicals, and combinations of operations with radicals. Then students complete 9 more similar problems. Students also check the 15 more complicated expressions they just simplified with a second decoder. Students will appreciate the support both via the worked out examples and via the immediate feedback that is built-in.
