The Phantom 'Rickshaw and Other Tales, also known as The Phantom 'Rickshaw & other Eerie Tales, is a collection of short stories by English writer, Rudyard Kipling, first published in 1888 by A. H. Wheeler and Company in British India. The collection contains five tales, the best known of which is not the title story, but THE MAN WHO WOULD BE KING, which has been adapted for radio, film, animated film, games, literature, and music. J. M. Barrie, the author of Peter Pan, called it the most audacious thing in fiction. In H. G. Well’s WHEN THE SLEEPER AWAKES it is called one of the best stories in the world.
