London in the 1970's. The Conservatives are back in power, and Charles Broome-Vivier hopes to fulfil his ambition to become an MP, supported by his lovely wife Marian.
Nobody knows about Marian's affair with Dave Mason. He's an engineer, working abroad. He arrives in London, sun-tanned, travel-worn, at the bedside of Mimsy Mason, his adoptive mother, Marian's great-aunt. Together they make sure that Mimsy dies peacefully, and has a decent funeral.
They have become passionate lovers. Now it's time to say goodbye.
Will they ever meet again?
