Walking through Ezra

The book of Ezra tells the story of God bringing His people back from Babylonian exile and restoring them to worship in Jerusalem. In the first half, the exiles return under Zerubbabel and rebuild the temple, showing that the Lord has not abandoned His covenant promises but is actively guiding history for His people’s good.
In the second half, Ezra arrives as a priest and scribe to lead a deeper reform, not just of public worship but of the people’s hearts and obedience. The book makes clear that rebuilding the temple was only part of the work; what God really wanted was a repentant, Word-shaped people who would live in holiness before Him.
