Love and Suffering

My anthology includes four pieces of literature. In order they are The Cycle, Love, City of Angels, and The Thinker. The first two pieces are works of poetry and their main themes are love and loss. The last two pieces are fictional stories with City of Angels being a more traditional story that is full of suspense and mystery, while The Thinker is more meant to make you think and be thought provoking. I took inspiration from Notes From Underground for The Thinker so if you like Dostoevsky then you would most likely like the short story. The main theme however that persists in all of the stories is love. Love is one of the single most important things in life. You may not think that The Thinker or City of Angels is about love but they are. The Thinker is about a man with no one to love and all he does is spends his days wasting away thinking about how bad society is and then trying to make a change in a way that will only monsterize him, and make him appear as a terrorist and not someone seeking a positive change in society. City of Angels is the story of a man and what lengths he will go to know what and why what happened to his wife happened and only stops after being ‘reborn’.
