The Temple tells the story of four lives linked across time. A child prodigy in 4th century AD, an invading warrior in the 11th century, a young revolutionary in post world war II British occupied India and a narrator who lives in the present day. The story is primarily set in Orissa, a small state on the east coast of India. The stoylines intersect at a single geographical point, the temple, that was built by an emperor to felicitate a victory, but in the end became so much more to these four souls.
