Let Me be Me is set in Cosby,Tennessee in the Great Smokey Mountain region. Debra Talley is the tomboy of the family following in her fathers footsteps every day. He is a forest ranger in the mountains and Debra loves spending time with him on his job. Her mother and older sister keeps telling Debra she needs to grow up and act like a lady but that doesn't interest Debra at all. She loves just being herself.
