Lectio Divina (divine reading) is a traditional Benedictine practice of scripture reading, meditation, contemplation and prayer that is transformational. Traditionally Lectio Divina has 4 specific steps: reading, meditation, prayer and contemplation. The author respectfully adds to this list of spiritual disciplines, a fifth: doodling/drawing—Duco Divina. Treasures in Darkness is a compilation of personal contemplative doodles and writing, thrown into a box over time. They represent milestones in the author's journey in living with chronic pain. They take her back to very specific times and experiences in her life— some of them joys, many of them struggles, but all of them moments of deep revelation that have left lasting impressions that continue to impact her life today. Within these pages you may find something you can relate to—those 'connecting points' that say our struggles are similar, but we're not alone. There is hope. In finding those connections, may you too be inspired to share the stories of your journey with others, in your own way!
