Erren Raven was living a quiet life in rural England when he and his friend Toby find themselves running for their lives from a creature in the forest behind their school. This was the start of an adventure where Erren finds out his whole life had been lie. A mysterious man called Falin takes him, his sister and Toby to a world full of sorcery, scryers, ogres and monsters. The city of Ventris is under siege by a tyrant determined to rule all. The only thing he fears that can stop him is the proclaimed. Erren Raven must conquer his fears and become a leader of a newly formed elite guard which uses creatures such as lions, spiders and giant lizards bonded to their masters to fight the evil taking over world. Three teenagers. A fledgling guard unit. And a frog called Dave. Can they destroy the evil before it destroys them...
