My name is Robbie McLeod, and I am a Biomedical Researcher based in the Northeastern United States, working for a prominent pharmaceutical company. I am deeply passionate about my work, as it allows me to contribute to the development of treatments for various diseases, including cancer—a mission that continually inspires and humbles me.
Beyond the lab, I immerse myself in the art of photography. I am the proud coordinator of the Furnace Fashioned Photography Consortium, where we focus on capturing and creating storytelling portraits. Our group’s motto, "Endeavor to Be Creative," encapsulates our drive to push artistic boundaries and experiment with innovative visual narratives.
So, why work with a consortium? Well, we’re unique. Traditional photographer/model interactions can certainly produce amazing works of art, and photo meetups (which we are not) can be nice, but they don’t typically foster the level of camaraderie, mutual respect, and individual comfort that we strive for. In our consortium, every participant has the opportunity to work with others repeatedly in a space built on trust and collaboration. This continuity fosters not only deeper connections but also better outcomes for everyone involved. The very fact that you have the chance to collaborate with individuals who genuinely respect you time and again means, by logic, the results will only improve each time you join in.
The word "consortium" itself represents an agreement, combination, or group formed to undertake an enterprise beyond the resources of any one member. This perfectly defines what we aim to achieve—a collaborative environment where creativity thrives beyond what any one person could accomplish alone. We welcome you to follow us on social media and join us on this creative journey.
In my free time, I am an avid fan of movies, particularly in the fantasy and science fiction genres. This passion heavily influences my approach to photography, where I strive to infuse a cinematic quality into my work. One of my recent pictorial projects reflects my admiration for the themes of old Westerns and nostalgic TV shows like Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons, and Gunsmoke. Through this series, I imagine a world where we are transported back to the days of the American West in the 1800s and explore how we, especially the children of today, would adapt to the cultural and societal foundations of that era.
