Whimsical Magazine is a new independent fortnightly publication aiming to highlight and sublimize portrait photography in all its forms, envisioned as a work of art. Additionally to awesome and unique editorial or commercial portraits, every issue will consist of interviews and articles spotlighting talents, from every part of the world, who will inspire every photography and image enthusiast and stimulate you to excel in your art, in order to make you live your passion more completely. Passion, creativity, emotion and audacity are our 4 watchwords. Introducing Gary Margeson... Gary Margeson is the photographer behind the lens. His passion for photography was directly inspired by his father who spent three years traveling the country for his job In the early 1950s. ‘He visited many national parks and even visited pre-Castro Cuba. His slides from the trips are what started my wanderlust. For much of my photography journey, I shot mostly travel photos.’ One month prior to the pandemic, Gary decided to set up his first group model shoot and that’s what marked the beginning of his path through modeling photography. Indeed, the session went very well, and with event and travel shoots being canceled for the rest of the year, he filled his schedule with model shoots. Thus, Gary took advantage of this particular period to develop his eye for shooting models. ‘I prefer a natural look with minimal editing.
