Issue 4: Senses

In Issue 4 of Special Projects, the elected theme is Senses. Initially, one begins with considering the obvious senses of sight, smell, touch, sound and taste. However, sense can also be interpreted as an awareness or perception of an idea or concept. Once students began looking at the theme in this light, their ideas really began to evolve. The following photo series concepts range from the “sense of taste” to a “sense of wonder,” touching on topics such as natural beauty, fashion, sensuality, drug use and symbolisms of fear. Some students took a more lighthearted approach, while others delved deep into their own psyche.
