This book describes how to build complete fiber optic networks with special emphasis on FTTX networks, fiber to the end user. The book provides advices and counsel for building both the fiber optic access network, access nodes, materials to be used, documentation, measuring and planning. There are also four detailed descriptions of four different types of networks; a network in an area with block of flats, network in a terraced area and a network that is being built in rural areas where the network is installed in pole lines. The book focuses on networking with the help of micro cables, micro ducts and blown fibers, all relatively new techniques.
